2012 Charity Golf Day

The fifth RBA Wealth Management Charity Golf Day took place on Friday 13th July 2012, at Ashbourne Golf Club in Derbyshire, raising over £3600 for the St. James's Place Foundation.

The St. James's Place Foundation, set up in 1992, is keen to support smaller charities that can substantially benefit from relatively small grants. The main focus of the Foundation is on helping children and young people who have special needs through illness or disability or who are disadvantaged in other ways. The Foundation also supports the Hospice Movement and charities who offer help to people with cancer.

St. James's Place matched pound for pound what the event raised, meaning over £7,200 going to this most worthwhile cause. Those taking part enjoyed 18 holes of golf in picturesque surroundings, with the golf course overlooking the Derbyshire Dales.

A selection of first class prizes were kindly donated by a range of local businesses, which helped raise monies for the cause. RBA Wealth Management would like to thank all of those who took part on the day, their clients, who have been extremely generous with their donations, the sponsors and raffle prize donators who are as follows;

DPC Accountants, Food Search, A.C.E Services, W. Burton & Sons Ltd, Food Connex, Uttoxeter Chiropractor, Boulton Construction Ltd, ASUK Worldwide Accountants, ELBAR Worldwide, Kingfisher Properties, Blythe Insurance, IOT, MHA Accountants, MJ Lavin & Sons Printers, Polyflon Ltd, Simpson Solicitors, Ashbourne, Wilkins & Thompson, Fat Boy Trim Hairdressers - Uttoxeter, Hoar Cross Hall, Ashbourne Golf Club, Marjorie Centre - Uttoxeter, Opulence - Uttoxeter, Emilie Duclos Florist - Uttoxeter, Edmonstons Family Butchers - Uttoxeter and Denstone Hall Farm Shop.

The Directors of RBA Wealth Management said, "We are delighted with the funds raised and despite the weather being against us we still had a fantastic day! Whilst we help raise funds with events like today, we also work hard to put those funds back into the community. To give an example, this year we have received grants from the St. James's Place Foundation totalling £7500, for the Wingate Centre, Fishing for Heroes and Little Hearts Matter charities. We would like to thank everyone who has supported this year’s Golf Event for their kindness and generosity in raising money for what is a great cause."
