RBA Annual Charity Golf Day 2022

Community and voluntary groups from Uttoxeter will be among beneficiaries after 48 golfers took part in the RBA Wealth Management charity golf day.

The event, at JCB Golf and Country Club, raised around £11,000 on the day and this was doubled to £22,000 by St. James's Place, of which RBA are an Appointed Representative of.

All money raised will be split between the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation and We Love Uttoxeter.

The 2022 event takes fundraising through charity golf days by RBA Wealth Management, to more than £140,000.

We Love Uttoxeter provides support for community and voluntary organisations in and around the Staffordshire town.

“Our annual golf day is always a fantastic day, with challenging but fun competition on the glorious fairways and greens of the JCB course,” said, Andrew Hackney of RBA Wealth Management. “Most importantly, thanks to our golfers and sponsors, we were able to raise funds for good causes both locally, in our home town of Uttoxeter, and internationally.”

The St. James's Place Charitable Foundation is the third largest corporate foundation in the UK and has benefitted over 4,000 charities and over 2 million people globally.

Angela Fountain of RBA Wealth Management thanked We Love Uttoxeter founder Ashley Brough, who ran an auction at the golf day and the event’s corporate sponsors, Lavin Printers, Octopus Investments, MacMartin marketing agency, DPC Accountants, Nelson’s Gin, W. Burton & Son, Moorland Contract Group, Prism IT services, ACE Electrical Services, Ashley James Group, St. James's Place, Emma Bridgewater and Fashion Parade.

We Love Uttoxeter is part of the Community Foundation for Staffordshire. Operations officer, Benjamin Hilton, said: “It was wonderful to see so many local businesses coming together to support the We Love Uttoxeter Community Fund. We are pleased to see so many like minded people who are passionate about giving back to their community and we would like to thank everyone who came along.”

Competition on the course was fierce but good humoured. The winning team was made up of Adam Burton and Greg Peters. Second place went to Jarred Wright and Scott Bulloch, with Rob Swotton and Giles Lang finishing in third place.

The “Beat the Pro” winner was Ashley Knight, Greg Peters won the nearest the pin prize and the longest drive was struck by Michael Grice.

Based at High Street, Uttoxeter, RBA Wealth Management has a long history of supporting good causes in the area.

Andrew added: “Our golf day is an ever-popular event which allows our friends and clients to meet up, network and, of course, to fundraise. We are lucky to have local sponsors and the support of St James’ Place which matches every penny raised on the day.”
